Why a blog?

Why am I writing a blog?

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— (Ephesians 2:4-5 ESV)

I'm writing a blog because God is rich in mercy! He has made me alive, when I once was dead, by grace, I have been saved!

I'm writing a blog because of God's amazing grace. Because God has given me salvation in Christ Jesus! Because I am saved I have become a minister of the reconciliation to God through His great love for us in Christ Jesus.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. (2 Corinthians 5:17-19 ESV)

I am also writing a blog to glorify God. God has taken away my sin, and I walk in newness of life, following Jesus! I'm writing a blog to connect with people. I'm writing a blog to help me become a better linear thinker and teacher. I'm writing a blog because I can't stop thinking about, talking about, or singing about what God has done for me in saving me, a sinner through the cross of Christ! I'm writing a blog with the hopes that I can encourage people to put their trust in Jesus.

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God, just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved. (1 Corinthians 10:31-33 ESV)

What you can expect?

Updates about my life with my lovely bride, faith updates about my walk with Christ, and deeper thoughts on theology, culture, and scripture. I hope you enjoy!

Paul Stiver
